|
|
|
|
<p>The Linux Documentation Project is developing free, high quality documentation
|
|
for the GNU/Linux operating system. This includes the creation of HOWTOs and Guides,
|
|
and collaboration with other documentation groups.
|
|
|
|
<p>If you've always wanted to help Linux reach
|
|
Total World Domination(tm), but you're not a programmer,
|
|
there's still something you can do. Help the LDP!
|
|
|
|
<p>The LDP keeps a page of resources for authors at
|
|
<a href="http://www.linuxdoc.org/authors/">http://www.linuxdoc.org/authors/</a>.
|

Contributions are always welcome.

<h2>Documents in Distress</h2>
|
|
|
|
We have a set of documents that are very old and unmaintained.
|
|
Some have not been updated in years. We want these documents to get
|
|
the time and attention they need to be fresh and useful again.
|
|
|
|
<p>We have a separate are of the LDP which is the HOWTO Graveyard,
|
|
also known as the Archive. If we can't find new maintainers for these
|
|
documents, they will be taken out back, shot in the head, and stored
|
|
in the Archive.
|
|
|
|
<p>So, each week the LDPWN will highlight one document from the LDP that
|
|
is seriously in danger of being "archived". If we can find new maintainers
|
|
for one document each week, we will have all documents in full maintenance
|
|
by the end of the summer. Now wouldn't that be nice?
|
|
|
|
<p>This week's poster child is
|
|
<a href="../LDP/lpg/">The Linux Programmer's Guide</a>, which is very badly
|
|
in danger of being archived. We need several volunteers to handle this one.
|
|
It's many chapters long.
