<p>The webmaster maintains the quality of TLDP's website.</p>
|
|
|
|
<h2>Responsibilities</h2>
|
|
|
|
<ul>
|
|
<li>Publish updates to ancillary (non-published document) pages.</li>
|
|
|
|
<li>Maintain collection of links (links pages/database).</li>
|
|
|
|
<li>Act as a liaison between TLDP and Ibiblio for issues related to the
|
|
website.</li>
|
|
</ul>
|
|
|
|
<h2>Commitment</h2>
|
|
|
|
<p>The time commitment is less than 1 hour per week.</p>
|
|
|
|
<h2>Qualifications</h2>
|
|
|
|
<p>The webmaster should have a good understanding of HTML, CSS and BASH
|
|
scripting. Some knowledge of JavaScript is beneficial.</p>
|
|
|
|
<h2>Supervision</h2>
|
|
|
|
<p>Updates are usually done in response to items discussed on the <a
|
|
href="mailto:discuss-subscribe@en.tldp.org.NOSPAM">general TLDP discussion
|
|
list</a>, or from the <a
|
|
href="mailto:feedback@en.tldp.org.NOSPAM">feedback list</a>.</p>
|
|
|
|
<h2>Training</h2>
|
|
|
|
<p>There is no formal training for this position.</p>
|
|
|
|
<h2>Policies Affecting Assignment</h2>
|
|
|
|
<p>The webmaster needs to establish a user account and password with
|
|
Ibiblio and this account is subject to Ibiblio's network usage policy.</p>
|
|
|
|
<h2>Benefits Of The Position</h2>
|
|
|
|
<p>The webmaster can gain valuable experience managing a website that
|
|
receives over two-hundred fifty thousand hits per day.</p>
|
