<h2>Responsibilities</h2>
|
|
|
|
<ul>
|
|
<li>Select appropriate news items to be included in <a

|
href="http://www.tldp.org/ldpwn/">TLDP's newsletter</a>.</li>
|
|
|
|
<li>Fact check news items.</li>
|
|
|
|
<li>Markup items according to DocBook template for TLDP news.</li>
|
|
|
|
<li>Commit new information to CVS.</li>
|
|
|
|
<li>Publish news via the web and RSS feed.</li>
|
|
</ul>
|
|
|
|
<h2>Commitment</h2>
|
|
|
|
<p>Approximately four hours per month is required to be a news editor. This
|
|
time commitment is spread evenly throughout the month.</p>
|
|
|
|
<h2>Qualifications</h2>
|
|
|
|
<p>A familiarity with current events at TLDP is required as are good
|
|
written language skills. Editors should understand how to use CVS.</p>
|
|
|
|
<h2>Supervision</h2>
|
|
|
|
<p>Peer feedback is obtained from <a
|
|
href="mailto:discuss-subscribe@en.tldp.org.NOSPAM">TLDP's general
|
|
discussion mailing list</a>.</p>
|
|
|
|
<h2>Training</h2>
|
|
|
|
<p>There is no formal training for this position.</p>
|
|
|
|
<h2>Policies Affecting Assignment</h2>
|
|
|
|
<p>Filling of a news editor position must be agreed upon by current
|
|
editor(s) and/or the TLDP webmaster(s).</p>
|
|
|
|
<h2>Benefits Of The Position</h2>
|
|
|
|
<p>News editors gain experience and satisfaction while promoting TLDP
|
|
projects.</p>
