LINUX EXPO CONFERENCE</H2>

Durham, NC--April 22, 1998--The Linux Expo planning committee announced
this week that it will award its Geek Scholarship to eleven
individuals. Chosen for their leadership dedication, and
accomplishments using Linux, these individuals win the sponsorship of
several different companies who will foot the bill for their attendance
at Linux Expo. Gulf State Engineering, Sun Microsystems, Red Hat
Software, Inc., Perforce Software, Intelligent Visual Computing, and
Kekau, Paul Saunders, sponsors of the Geek Scholarships, proudly
congratulate the winners.

Other winners include anyone who gets to experience the three
business-centered and technology-packed days, May 28-30, at Duke
University in Durham, NC. Linux Expo schedules and topics for
Business and Technical Tracks, Birds-of-a-Feather sessions, Q&A Forums
are now posted on the Linux Expo website. Please check out

ensure that you'll get to experience all the events that you can.

Some names to look out for: Alan Cox on porting Linux to the
Macintosh, Darryl Strauss on the use of Digital Domain's Linux
rendering farm in "Titanic," Jon 'maddog' Hall on Linux around the
world, Bruce Perens on Free Software Licensing, and many, many more.

The Expo keynote, by Linus Torvalds, the original developer of the
Linux kernel, is scheduled for Friday, May 29, at 5:00 PM EST.

In addition to the hardware, software, component and applications
vendors, the Linux Expo will also have a Quake Fest, Games Forum,
Editor Wars, and an Email Garden. Tutorial sessions with top Linux
developers provide a great opportunity to get to know the ins and outs
of the revolutionary Linux OS.
